¡Hola! I'm Monica, your Spanish teacher
I love to make learning fun, without sacrificing academic rigour. My classes are dynamic and well-organised. We’ll set goals at the beginning, and trace the best possible route to reach them.
I believe in the satisfaction that comes from hard work, and I can testify to that: besides being a language teacher, I’ve learned to speak 6 languages myself.
QTS
Certification
I have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) certification and experience as a face-to-face and online teacher, in schools in Great Britain and remotely, as a private teacher. I am also an Expert in the methodology for teaching Spanish as a foreign language, having earned qualifications from the University of Barcelona, and a Master Degree in Secondary Education (UNED).
Better
grades
In my years as a Spanish teacher, students who attend my classes and follow my teaching methodology usually pass their exams. And most of them manage to increase their score by at least 2 grades on GCSE exams, and at least 1 grade on the A Level exam.
In this sense, it has a lot to do with the academical learning, but also and more particularly, with the confidence they gain in themselves through the coaching process.

I’ve worked
in 8 countries
100%
dolore
I have worked in 8 different countries, which has opened my mind to cultural and language diversity. I have been an employee and then deputy director of a bank office in Spain; I have worked in Nicaragua in an NGO related to microcredits; I have been a tour guide on the Prague-Vienna-Budapest route, Switzerland, Paris and Eurodisney, communicating in English and French.
When I returned to Spain, I coordinated camp counsellors as we worked with school children who came to do activities in nature. In England, I have been a Spanish teacher in two schools: an independent and a state school. And, while living in the UK, I also started tutoring and coaching my first online students.
I place a lot of importance on effort, but not as something negative, rather as a positive thing that helps you achieve your goals and makes you happy, because you feel good about yourself.
I apply this same effort to myself, striving to prepare the lessons thoroughly, always looking for the best way to address the problems that students encounter, catching up with new tools to create materials, etc.
I am a firm supporter
of both effort and joy.
